Hotel Near the Winchester Mystery House

The Winchester Mystery House is about seven minutes south of Granada Hotel, on Winchester Boulevard in San Jose. Sarah Winchester kept building and rebuilding the Victorian mansion for decades, and the result is a maze of rooms with staircases that end at the ceiling, doors that open onto walls, and windows set into floors.
Guided and self-guided tours cover the house, its gardens, and the stories behind it, and the house adds special tours and seasonal events through the year. Santana Row and Westfield Valley Fair are right across the freeway for lunch or dinner afterward.
Tips
- Reserve a tour time online, especially on weekends and around Halloween.
- Wear comfortable shoes. There are a lot of stairs.
