Hotel Near Santa Clara University and Mission Santa Clara

2.7 Miles | 6 Minutes Drive

Granada Hotel and Santa Clara University share the same historic road. Head east on El Camino Real for about six minutes and you reach the campus, founded in 1851 as California's oldest operating institution of higher learning, with Mission Santa Clara de Asis at its center.

The mission was first founded in 1777, and today's church sits among quiet gardens at the heart of the campus. The university's de Saisset Museum nearby covers art and the history of the mission. It is a peaceful stop for visiting families, campus tours, and anyone curious about California's mission history.

Tips

  • The mission church is an active place of worship. Check visiting times and be respectful during services and weddings.
  • Campus visitor parking rules apply. Check the university's visitor information before you go.
  • Visiting for a campus tour, graduation, or move-in weekend? Book early. Those dates fill fast in Santa Clara.
